In this inspiring collaboration with conductor and baroque violinist Stefano Montanari, masterful Italian grammarian Gianluigi Trovesi expands on the musical research he began on his album Prufumo di violetta. With the support of musicians familiar with the sounds of ancient period instruments and the art of historical performance, Trovesi revisits Renaissance and Baroque music – the works of Purcell, Dufay, Trabac, Desprez, and others – adding his own compositions and mixing in a heady blend of improvisation with percussionist and electronics artist Fulvio Marasi.
