The album Camille Saint-Saëns: Complete Piano Works, Vol. 2, released by Grand Piano, features piano virtuoso Geoffrey Burleson performing the French composer's Baroque- and Classical-influenced solo piano works. The recording includes the technically challenging suite of six fugues (Op. 161) from the later years of the composer's career, as well as the lyrical Allegro Appassionato. Burleson's masterful technique and sensitive touch beautifully bring out the pieces' melodic richness, poetry, and Romantic-era expressiveness.
