Royals: Live (2 x LP-vinyl)

The live album Live (1978) by the Finnish rock supergroup Royals is a landmark release in Finnish rock history, capturing the band’s exceptionally energetic and virtuosic stage presence at the Tavastia club shortly before their disbandment. Expanded into a four-piece lineup featuring Pave Maijanen, Albert Järvinen, Ippe Kätkä, and Mikko Rintanen, the band shines on this album particularly through massive, improvised jams and bold covers, such as the 17-minute rendition of Ted Nugent's No Holds Barred. While the original silver-foiled double vinyl released by Love Records remains a highly valuable collector's item, the album's reputation as a pinnacle of Finnish live music continues to thrive today, thanks in part to high-quality reissues by labels like Ainoa Productions.
