Pat Metheny Group - Travels (2CD - 2022 Reissue)

Recorded during a 1982 tour of the United States, the live album Travels expanded the scope of Metheny's music in two different directions. The increasing use of guitar synthesizers in combination with keyboard synthesizers created futuristic atmospheres. At the same time, Nana Vasconcelos' berimbau and percussion instruments anchored the music in earthiness. From this point on, Brazilian rhythms played an increasingly important role in Pat's work.
