Busoni's student Selim Palmgren was one of the leading Nordic composers of the early decades of the 20th century. His wide-ranging piano music was performed and recorded by the greatest artists of his time. This third volume in the first complete recording of Palmgren's piano music offers a diverse cross-section of works composed over a period of 50 years. It includes the youthful lyrical Intermezzo, Op. 8, charming romantic miniatures, and one of his greatest achievements, the atmospheric series Spring, in which impressionistic elements blend with rich Finnish folk melodies.
