Miyoshi Umeki - Sayonara - The Rare Singles (CD)

Miyoshi Umeki – Sayonara: The Rare Singles is a digitally remastered CD compilation released by the British label Jasmine Records. For the first time, it brings together the rare Mercury Records singles from the 1950s and early 1960s by the Japanese-American singer and actress, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Sayonara (1957), alongside her early jazz and pop recordings made in Japan. Featuring rarities such as “Why Talk”, “The Little Lost Dog” and the title track, “Sayonara”, the album offers a comprehensive overview of Umeki’s distinctive and delicate vocal style.
