Leonard Cohen: The Essential (DOUBLE-CD)

The Essential Leonard Cohen is one of the most highly regarded compilation albums, as it covers the most significant years and stylistic changes of Cohen's career.
The collection is divided into two discs, which follow the artist's development chronologically:
CD 1: Focuses on Cohen's early work (1960s and 1970s). The soundscape is stripped down, with an emphasis on acoustic guitar and poetic folk music. Classics such as Suzanne, Bird on the Wire and Famous Blue Raincoat are included.
CD 2: Presents the work of the 1980s and 1990s. This side hears Cohen's transition to synthesizers and an increasingly lower, more tender vocal tone. Includes the huge hits Hallelujah, First We Take Manhattan and Everybody Knows.
