Kerkko Koskinen: Rakkaus viiltää (SECOND-HAND CD)

Kerkko Koskinen's debut solo album, Rakkaus viiltää, released in April 2002, was created quickly following the disbandment of Ultra Bra in the autumn of that same year, peaking at number five on the official Finnish Albums Chart. The album marked Koskinen's debut as a lead vocalist; although his singing style has been described as somewhat straightforward and rugged, it brought an exceptionally strong, raw, and passionate emotional depth to the songs. The intense lyrics of love and heartbreak, penned by Anni Sinnemäki, Erpo Pakkala, and Juhana Rossi, blended with Koskinen's grand yet more stripped-down pop-rock compositions compared to Ultra Bra, backed by an organic and breathing studio band of seasoned top professionals. The end result was a collection of timeless, dramatic anthems and masterpieces of bohemian romance—such as the title track and the hit classic "Sateentekijä"—that pay homage to the finest traditions of Finnish theatrical music and Love Records.
