Julia Migenes Johnson, Placido Domingo, Lorin Maazel - Georges Bizet: Carmen (SECOND-HAND 3 x CD BOKSI)

This 1984 recording of Georges Bizet's Carmen, conducted by Lorin Maazel and performed by the Orchestre National de France, is the official soundtrack to the successful film directed by Francesco Rosi, and it is considered one of the most electric and cinematic interpretations in the opera discography. The heart of the original 3-CD box set version published by Erato Records is soprano Julia Migenes-Johnson's exceptionally sensual, raw, and theatrical interpretation as Carmen, which challenged traditional roles that focused solely on vocal purity. Shining alongside her are the dramatic Plácido Domingo in the role of Don José and the charismatic Ruggero Raimondi as Escamillo. The recording was made at the Radio France studio in Paris, and it has gone down in history for its intense, theatrical energy and vivid soundscape, which conveys the passion and tragedy of the opera exceptionally powerfully to the home listener.
