Ismo Alanko: Minä halusin olla niin kuin Beethoven (LP-vinyl)

Released on May 17, 2019, Minä halusin olla niin kuin Beethoven (translated: I Wanted to Be Like Beethoven) is the seventh studio album by Finnish rock pioneer Ismo Alanko. The central theme of the album revolves around the confusion, strangeness, and mental chaos of living in the modern world. This record stands out as an exceptionally strong solo effort, as Alanko composed and wrote all the material himself, while also playing almost all the guitar, bass, and synthesizer parts in the studio. Musically, the album's 10 tracks—including the singles Voi ei! and Nuorena nukkuneet—blend a raw punk attitude with danceable electronic rock and catchy pop melodies. The overall soundscape was finalized by producers Riku Mattila and Artturi Taira (who also handled synthesizers and programming) along with drummer Mikko Sirén, best known from the band Apocalyptica.
