Buffalo Philharmonic, JoAnn Falletta - Ottorino Respighi: Roman Trilogy: Roman Festivals; Fountains of Rome; Pines of Rome

This album, recorded for the Naxos label in 2019 by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under JoAnn Falletta, brings together Italian composer Ottorino Respighi’s celebrated Roman Trilogy (Fontane di Roma, Pini di Roma and Feste romane). It received widespread international acclaim and won the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Classical. Falletta’s interpretations were praised in particular for the exceptional clarity and spaciousness with which they reveal the detail and dynamic range of Respighi’s colourful, monumental and cinematic orchestration, making this release one of the benchmark modern digital recordings of the trilogy.
