Aston Kalmari: Mammanpojat (CD)

Aston Kalmari, a rock band from Lappeenranta formed in 2018, plays melodic Finnish rock and radio punk, known for their energetic live shows and lyrics that offer honest relatability on difficult and often taboo topics like mental health struggles, loneliness, and relationships. The band's second studio album, Mammanpojat (2024), addresses the pressures and difficult emotions faced by men, as implied by its title. Featuring ten tracks—driven by hit singles like "Pelastetaan lapset!" and "Minä vastaan minä"—the record showcases the band's distinctive, more polished sound and solidified the lineup (Aleksi Arola, Samu Pellikka, Ville Vuorio, and Markus Tuhkalainen) as one of the most closely followed names in the domestic rock scene ahead of their third album release in autumn 2026.
