András Batta: Ooppera (Book, Finnish)

Chiefly edited by András Batta, Opera: Composers, Works, Performers is a monumental reference book of over 900 pages and around 1,500 illustrations, covering 400 years of opera history from the late 16th century to the present day. The book chronologically presents more than 300 operas and the genre's most significant composers, delving into the details of plot summaries, musical analyses, character roles, and premieres. The expert Finnish translation of the work was completed by Elli Ainola along with a team of translators, and it serves as both a visually stunning art book and an accessible reference guide that introduces the reader to the cultural history and performance traditions of the opera world.
