Released in August 2026 on the Swedish BIS label, this SACD album showcases the acclaimed Finnish-Dutch cello virtuoso Jonathan Roozeman and pianist Johannes Piirto performing contemporary Finnish chamber music composed in recent decades. The heart of the album is Kalevi Aho’s large-scale Cello Sonata, beautifully complemented by expressive works from Outi Tarkiainen, Sauli Zinovjev, Cecilia Damström, and Sebastian Fagerlund. The recording offers a powerful and dynamic insight into the rich and nuanced soundscapes of modern Finnish classical music.
