Schumann, Robert - Fantasies and Fairy Tales - Heiskanen, Asko

This recording of Schumann's poetic Hausmusik – music intended for home use – is one of the first to feature performances recorded on period instruments. The clarinet is a replica of the early 19th-century clarinet known to Schumann, all three string instruments use gut strings, and the piano is an original 1843 Pleyel.
