Richard Strauss: Salome

This highly acclaimed production of Strauss's opera Salome at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden is the work of German director Nikolaus Lehnhoff. The lead role is played by Angela Denoke, who gives a "brilliant performance as Salome" (FAZ), accompanied by a magnificent ensemble of soloists, including Kim Begley, Doris Soffel, and Alan Held. The Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, conducted by Stefan Soltesz, performed with “great confidence” (FAZ) and was also enthusiastically received by critics and audiences alike.
