Renaudin Vary, Lucienne / Luzerner Sinfonieorchester / Sanderling, Michael : Trumpet Concertos

Lucien's fourth Warner Classics project, featuring two of the most famous trumpet concertos. They were recorded with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Michael Sanderling. Also included is an interesting selection of lesser-known concertos by Johann Baptist Georg Neruda, Alexander Arutiunian, and Harry James. In the same spirit as her three previous albums, combining styles and eras, the Harry James concerto emphasizes brass instruments and swing! Bonus track: "A Post-scriptum on Haydn" is an improvisation on the theme of Haydn's concerto, performed spontaneously at the end of the recordings.
