Mingus, Charles : Mingus Ah Um

A remastered collector's edition of the 1959 album. The Penguin Guide to Jazz CD has called Mingus Ah Um "an extended tribute to his forefathers" and awarded it one of its rare crowns. It is, in fact, one of Mingus' most personal albums and has produced a series of songs that have become standards. The release includes the songs "Goodbye Pork Pie Hat," "Boogie Stop Shuffle," "Self-Portrait In Three Colors," "Jelly Roll," and "Open Letter to Duke."
