Meisinger, Krzysztof - The Spanish Album - Various

Born in 1984, Krzysztof Meisinger is one of the most fascinating and charismatic classical guitarists of our time. His artistic development has been deeply influenced by teachers and musical authorities such as Aniello Desiderio (Italy) and Christopher Parkening (USA). His talent, comparable to that of pianist Piotr Anderszewski and fellow guitarist Pepe Romero, has led him to perform all over the world. Nigel Simeone notes: "Meisinger: The Spanish Album presents the guitar as the main instrument in a program of arrangements featuring string and percussion instruments. The program includes both traditional songs and music by leading contemporary flamenco composers, and the music is inspired by the landscapes and sounds of Spain from the 18th century to the early 20th century. The arrangements are perhaps more surprising than the music itself, much of which has been filtered through the creative imagination of composers from Boccherini to Falla. The string accompaniment on this recording brings warmth, color, and sustained harmonies to support the guitar, and these are complemented by improvised percussion instruments – from red-blooded castanets to delicate, atmospheric bar bells. Throughout, the guitar is an eloquent soloist and the musical embodiment of Spain.
