Mahler, Gustav - Symphony No. 7 - Rattle, Simon

In November 2021, even before taking up his post as chief conductor of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Simon Rattle began a series of Mahler symphonies with a performance of the Ninth Symphony (BR-CLASSIC 900205). The Sixth Symphony followed in September 2023 (BR-CLASSIC 900217), and the conductor now turns his attention to the composer's Seventh Symphony. This cycle marks the beginning of a new chapter in Mahler interpretation, as Rattle is as passionate an admirer of Mahler as his predecessors Jansons, Maazel, and Kubelík. BR-KLASSIK has already released a live recording of the concert, which took place in November 2024, featuring Mahler's impressive Seventh Symphony.
