Korngold, E W - Die tote Stadt (2CD) - Nylund, Camilla

Korngold was only 23 years old when his most celebrated stage work premiered in 1920, conducted by none other than Otto Klemperer. The cast, led by Klaus Florian Vogt and Camilla Nylund, does an excellent job of bringing out the rich orchestration and brilliant bel canto vocal score, and Mikko Franck is a "death-defying conductor" (The Guardian).
