Keith Jarrett - New Vienna

New Vienna is the fourth concert recording from Keith Jarrett's last solo tour of Europe. It follows concerts in Munich in 2016, Budapest, and Bordeaux. Why New Vienna? As Jarrett's friends know, his discography already includes the legendary Vienna concert (recorded at the Vienna State Opera), whose music he once said spoke "the language of flame" after long years of "playing with fire." Keith Jarrett's return to the Austrian capital in 2016 brought the flames of inspiration to another historic and acoustically vibrant venue, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein, where at the beginning of the last century Schönberg, Berg, and Webern premiered works that challenged and changed the direction of modern music. New Vienna, which shapes its new music in the moment, is almost encyclopedic in scope. The album will be released at the same time as Keith Jarrett turns 80.
