Juha Saunala: Soolo (CD-album)

Soolo is the debut album by Vaasa-based musician Juha Saunala, released on February 20, 2026. Saunala is known as the "master of melancholy", and the album represents dark, experimental music that combines progressive rock and jazz.

The album's music is stripped down and organic; it is mainly realized with electric bass and vocals, complemented by ambient background sounds recorded by Saunala himself. The music includes 1970s Finnish nostalgia and opinionated topics, such as the injustice of the world.

Juha Saunala has previously been involved in the formations of Sepi Kumpulainen, Ramy Essam and Jaan Pehki, among others. He began his independent solo career in 2023 and has since performed actively both in Finland and abroad.
