Coltrane, John - Giant Steps

Part of the Jean-Pierre Leloir collection, Giant Steps, an 18-gram vinyl record, was John Coltrane's debut on the Atlantic label. At the time, he was still a member of Miles Davis' band, which would soon record the immortal Kind of Blue. The 1960 album received a five-star rating in Down Beat magazine, and renowned critic Ralph J. Gleason stated: "There are moments when Coltrane is remarkably soft, lyrical, and simply beautiful. You can classify this LP as one of the most important."
