Beck Group, Jeff - You Had It Coming

You Had It Coming begins with a heavy track written by Jennifer Batten (a guitar virtuoso famous for playing on all three of Michael Jackson's world tours), so it's no surprise that many of the songs lean more toward heavier blues rock. "You Had It Coming" impresses with its stripped-down sound, disciplined arrangements, and instrumental prowess. British musician/singer Imogen Heap adds powerful vocals to Muddy Waters' Rollin' and Tumblin' and suggestive non-vocal parts to Dirty Mind, and the opening track Earthquake features a strange sampled vocal part. Otherwise, the album is entirely instrumental. The album ends on a high but subdued note. Another epic album from the guitar hero.
