A Monastic Trio is the first solo album by jazz musician Alice Coltrane, released in 1968. The album was recorded at the couple's home in Dix Hills, New York, and was dedicated to her husband John Coltrane, who had died the previous year.
The album is a significant milestone in the history of spiritual jazz, and marks Alice Coltrane's debut not only on piano but also as a harpist.
It features musicians who played in John Coltrane's last quintet:

Pharoah Sanders: bass clarinet, flute (side A)
Jimmy Garrison: bass
Rashied Ali: drums
Ben Riley: drums (on "Ohnedaruth")
The album has been reissued in several vinyl (LP) and CD editions. This version is a 2024 Verve By Request reissue, pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
