SWEENEY TODD / SONDHEIM, STEPHEN - The DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET

The Munich Radio Orchestra celebrated its 60th anniversary with Stephen Sondheim's first complete recording, which became even more famous thanks to the film version starring Johnny Depp. The complex structure of this musical, composed on the borderline between opera and musical theater, is presented here by a blues-style soloist ensemble featuring Jane Henschel and Mark Stone, as well as the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, all conducted by Ulf Schirmer.
