Richter, F X - Grandes Symphonies Nos. 1-6 - Helsingin barokkiorkesteri

The hallmarks of Franz Xaver Richter's mature style are already evident in the six major symphonies published in 1744, several years before he joined the famous musical life of the Mannheim court. The fast movements have a dynamic intensity, largely due to the frequent use of contrapuntal techniques, while the slow movements are full of expressive harmonies and unexpected melodic twists. These symphonies are the first in a series of twelve symphonies, originally published in Paris in two groups of six.
