In spring 2021, the Jyväskylä Sinfonia recorded Per Henrik Nordgren's rarely performed music at Mikael in Mikkeli. The three works featured on the album – Streams, Cello Concerto No. 5, and Chamber Symphony – were written for slightly different chamber orchestra ensembles, thus offering a representative overview of Nordgren's musical thinking, combining both small and large scales. The recording was conducted by Ville Matvejeff, former chief conductor of the Jyväskylä Symphony Orchestra, and the cello concerto was performed by Tuomas Ylinen. The album cover features the work Valkoisen valta I (The Power of White I) by Jyväskylä-based visual artist Jaakko Valo. Valo and Nordgren met in Kaustinen.
